Resume

Major General Gregory J. Vadnais assumed the duties of Commander, 38th Infantry Division (Mechanized), on January 1, 2002. As the Division Commander he is responsible for directing, planning, deploying, organizing, coordinating and controlling all elements of the 38th Infantry Division.

The General’s military career began in 1970 when he enlisted in the Michigan Army National Guard. Upon graduation from the Michigan Military Academy, he accepted a commission in 1973 as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery. Prior to his current assignment, General Vadnais served as the 38th ID(M) Assistant Division Commander for Maneuver, and in various command and staff positions in field artillery and infantry units.
